Trying hard does not mean you are doing it wrong

Many thoughtful people arrive in therapy after years of analysing, reading, and trying to cope on their own. That effort is not failure. It usually means you have already done part of the work.

Therapy helps connect the missing pieces so insight turns into self-trust, resilience, and action. We look not only at the patterns that keep you stuck, but also at the strengths and values that can move you forward.

Meet Andrea

I work with thoughtful, capable people who often feel frustrated by a problem that seems difficult to explain.

Many people I support have spent years trying to understand themselves.

They have reflected deeply, read widely, and worked hard to manage their difficulties.

Yet despite their efforts they still find themselves caught in the same patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, overwhelm, or emotional exhaustion.

Therapy is not about starting from scratch.

More often it is about making sense of what already exists, recognising what is keeping you stuck, and building on strenghts you may not realise you already have.

Over the past ten years, I have supported people through anxiety, trauma and major life transitions using evidence - based approaches including CBT and EMDR.

My work combines structured psychological therapy with genuine curiosity about each person's unique experiences, values, and goals.

Together, we focus not only on understanding difficulties, but on helping you develop the resilient confidence to respond differently when life becomes challenging, so that progress continues long after therapy.

F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Question)

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy may be helpful if you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns that keep returning despite your best efforts. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit. If you're unsure, the free 15-minute meeting is a good opportunity to discuss your situation and see whether working together feels like the right fit.

What if I don't know where to start?

You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Many people come with a general sense of feeling stuck rather than a clear problem. We'll work together to understand what's happening and decide on the best way forward.

What if I tried before and it did not help?

Many people benefit from trying therapy again with a different approach, focus, professional. Previous therapy experiences can often help clarify what you need now.

How much does therapy cost?

One meeting of 50 minutes is 90£

One meeting of 80 minutes is 120£

Attending “one step ahead” course 25£ per session (contact me for more information)

What happens during the 15-minute free meeting?

The free 15-minute online meeting is an informal video or audio conversation where we discuss what you're looking for and whether I'm the right therapist for you. It's a chance to ask questions, understand how I work, and decide together whether working together feels like a good fit.

Do I have to commit to therapy after the first meeting?

No. There is no obligation to continue after the first meeting.

You may decide it's not the right time, that my approach isn't what you're looking for, or simply that we're not the right fit. Finding a therapist, you feel comfortable with is an important part of successful therapy.

How confidential is therapy?

Everything we discuss in therapy is treated as confidential.

As part of good clinical practice, I discuss my work with a clinical supervisor. This is a standard requirement for accredited therapists and helps ensure you receive safe, effective, and high-quality care. Any information shared during supervision is anonymised wherever possible, and my clinical supervisor is also bound by strict confidentiality.

There are limited exceptions to confidentiality where there are concerns about your safety, the safety of others, or where disclosure is required by law. Please see the Contact section for more information and find more information on the service agreement.

How many sessions will I need?

There isn't a fixed number. Some people benefit from a small number of focused sessions, while others prefer longer-term work. During our first assessment, we'll discuss your goals and agree on a plan that can be reviewed as therapy progresses

How do online meeting work?

Sessions take place online through a secure, encrypted platform. Once we've agreed a time, you'll receive a private link to join. You can choose whether to have your camera on or off, whichever feels most comfortable for you.

Do you offer evening and late-night appointments?

Yes. Alongside daytime appointments, I offer early morning, evening and late-night sessions to accommodate shift workers, busy professionals, parents, and people living in different time zones. Availability varies, so it's best to enquire when booking.

Do you work with people living abroad?

Yes. I work online with clients across the UK, as well as English-, Italian-, and Japanese-speaking clients living abroad, provided I am able to practise within the legal and professional requirements of your country of residence.

If you're unsure whether I can work with you, we can discuss this during the initial meeting. Please note that, due to insurance restrictions, I am unable to work with residents of the United States or Canada.
